Bipartisan Infrastructure Law in Michigan

To date, $5.7 billion in Bipartisan Infrastructure Law funding has been announced and is headed to Michigan with over 319 specific projects identified for funding. Since the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law passed, approximately $4.7 billion has been announced for transportation – to invest in roads, bridges, public transit, ports and airports – and roughly $489 million has been announced for clean water. And, as of today, more than 637,000 households across the state are receiving affordable high-speed internet due to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.


Michigan can expect to receive upwards of $11 billion through BIL from 2022 to 2026. The IIJA includes funding opportunities across many asset classes, including, but not limited to:

  • $7.3 billion to fix roads
  • $563 million for bridge replacement or repairs
  • $1 billion to improve public transportation
  • $1.3 billion to improve water infrastructure
  • $1.7 billion to expand high-speed internet access
  • $110 million to boost the state’s electric vehicle charging infrastructure
